Immunization Program Officer (Only Syrian & Turkish nationality) At Assistance Coordination Unit



Job Summary

Supervising and performing the immunization work and providing the necessary technical support for the immunization field staff, according to Syria Immunization Group (SIG) principles and values, to improve the health conditions of the target population.

Duties, Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting all necessary training (field – online) inside Syria to build the capacity for the field staff may be required to give health education to the vaccinators/caretakers individually.
  • Supervising all activities (EPI & SIAs) directly in the field to ensure high-quality implementation and achieve all immunization indicators.
  • Preparation of general and detailed plans for all immunization activities.
  • Monitoring and analyzing the daily data from the routine vaccination teams on DHIS2 (number of vaccinated children – defaulters tracking – coverage ratios – indicators of the nutritional status) in cooperation with liaison officers in the field.
  • Participating in data analysis and final reports preparation.
  • Conduct periodic evaluations of the EPI staff inside Syria.
  • Following the universal guidelines for managing vaccines (cold chain, administration), reporting any anomaly, and checking all vaccine vials (content, label, expiry date).
  • Coordinating with District level officers (EWARN-DLOs) and District supervisors (SIG-DS) to monitor the immunization indicators and the epidemiology situation in the targeted areas.
  • Reporting on consumption and, in the absence of a storekeeper, ordering regularly to prevent any ruptures in stock.
  • Coordination and cooperation with the rest of the relevant sections of the ACU (Logistics – Financial……) to facilitate work on the understanding of financial budgets and memorandums of understanding with partners.
  • Participate in data analysis and final reports preparation and coordinate it in collaboration with the Media Section and Data Management Unit in ACU

Qualification (Education/Work Experience/Languages)

  1. Essential
    • Bachelor of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentist, or related field.
    • At least 2 years of work experience in Public Health.
    • 1 year of experience with NGOs.
    • Languages skill: Arabic: essential, English: intermediate level
  2. Desirable:
    • Master or Bachelor of Medicine – Specialization: Public Health – Epidemiology – Pediatrics
    • 2 years of experience with NGOs.
    • 2 years of work experience in Immunization and Nutrition Programs.
    • Languages, English: Advanced, Turkish: intermediate level.

    • Ability to use all modern technical tools.
    • Collecting data tools such as (Google Forms – Microsoft Forms – Open Data kit…) All these programs are used to enter and collect data on the field by the service providers on the iPad or tablet or mobile devices and then sent to the central level for analysis.
