ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:

To achieve that vision, UOSSM USA provides, in collaboration with its strategic partners, impartial lifesaving support, medical relief and access to quality healthcare and mental health services to people affected by crisis through its impactful and cost-effective programs. UOSSM USA currently supports Mental Health and Protection (MH&P) services in Turkey and is looking forward to expanding its impact in MH&P to the underserved people in Jordan, Syrian refugees, and other refugees affected by crisis.
Position Overview:
The psychiatrist is a medical doctor with a degree in psychiatry who provides therapy to beneficiaries using psychological therapies، prescribes medications، directs, or manages psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to deal with mental، emotional، or behavioral disorders.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gather and maintain patients’ information and records، including social or medical history obtained from patients، relatives، or other professionals.
- Collect medical information from patients، family members، or other medical professionals، and record patient’s medical histories.
- Examine patients to assess general physical condition.
- Analyze and evaluate patient’s data and test or examine findings to diagnose nature and extent of mental disorder.
- Design individualized care plans using a variety of treatments
- Develop medical treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the psychologists and case workers to discuss treatment plans and progress.
- Educate patients on effects of health conditions or treatments.
- Educate or inform، relatives or significant care givers on patients’ conditions or treatment.
- Explain medical procedures or test results to patients or family members.
- Review and evaluate treatment procedures and outcomes of other psychologists.
- Prepare and submit case reports or summaries and other documents needed during the therapeutic intervention.
- Support and follow up with psychologists، counselors on cases on psychotherapeutic interventions.
- Work closely with the MHPSS Officer.
- Adhere to all UOSSM’s policies and procedures as outlined in MC policies and procedure manuals.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Psychiatrist will work full one day monthly in Ramtha city and will report to the MHPSS Consultant The successful candidate will be committed to the organization’s mission and values and will be able to work effectively in a team-based environment.
Gross SALARY: Up to $400 USD / Daily
