The NGO International Health Support Center (CSSI) is an NGO under Chadian law with international expertise in the implementation of development, research and humanitarian aid projects in the field of health. Created in 2006, its mission is sustainable health and social development. The CSSI is an institution of around 70 employees in Chad and around 36 employees in other countries in Central and West Africa, with an annual turnover of around FCA 1.9 billion ( EUR 2.9 million).
We are looking for a successor for the position of Director.
The holder of the position is placed under the authority of the board of directors of the CSSI. He/she will lead the management team (CSSI steering committee).
The main tasks he/she will assume are as follows:
- Guide and ensure the technical and financial management as well as human resources of the CSSI;
- Jointly with CSSI executives, position the CSSI as a reference institution in the health, research and humanitarian aid sector;
- Ensure proactive dialogue with CSSI partners and clients;
- Consolidate and develop the CSSI’s portfolio of projects, themes and activities through the acquisition of new projects/programs, evaluation and consultancy contracts;
Additional stains may include:
- Supervise and guide the implementation and monitoring of long-term projects in the health, research and humanitarian aid sector;
- Promote and ensure a constructive and motivating work environment as well as develop the professional development of CSSI employees;
To meet the requirements of the position , he/she must ideally meet the following conditions:
- Professional training in public health sciences and/or social sciences, respectively development and/or research;
- Minimum of 15 years of professional and technical experience in the health, research and/or humanitarian aid sector in low- or middle-income countries. Work experiences in different countries in Africa will be an asset;
- Experience in institutional portfolio development (acquisition of large-scale projects and mandates);
- Consolidated and recognized experience in the management of personnel and multidisciplinary teams, including in the evaluation of staff performance;
- High level of commitment and flexibility as well as willingness to travel, including in fragile contexts;
- Very good command of French and knowledge of English is an asset;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Strong team spirit and initiative, and ability to work in a multicultural context.
