Support the general implementation and strategy of the objectives of the Mental Health and psychosocial care program at the national level, will be responsible for supporting the national SMAPS coordination to provide a technical line to the teams in the field, guaranteeing the maintenance of the quality of the interventions. Supervises the methodological planning of activities, as well as the monitoring of work plans, activities, goals and indicators agreed with the SMAPS teams of the different ongoing projects and participates in interagency coordination spaces at the national or regional level.
Supports the supervision of the correct technical implementation of the SMAPS area in the different projects at the national level.
OWN FUNCTIONS:
- Supports the supervision of the technical operation of HIAS Colombia at the national level
- Supports coordination in territory with other organizations and cooperation agencies, including the management spaces of the SMAPS area with a view to the projection and leadership of the national SMAPS strategy of HIAS Colombia.
- Supports the implementation of internal monitoring of the SMAPS area at the national level, producing the required reports on the quality of the service.
- Conducts periodic training for the Staff of the SMAPS area, in low intensity interventions in mental health and psychosocial support (basic skills for accompaniment, EP+, SH+, cognitive behavioral intervention techniques, etc.) and others, aimed at the local population or organizations present in communities, in accordance with the technical requirements.
- Provides a technical line to the mental health and psychosocial care staff at the national level, in coordination with the strategic actions of the national SMAPS technical coordination.
- Designs experiential group and community intervention methodologies according to the technical guidelines of the SMAPS area, for application from a culturally sensitive approach.
- Accompanies group and community SMAPS actions in the territories, to monitor and provide technical recommendations seeking the highest level of quality of SMAPS interventions.
- Designs and implements tools for information management, impact evaluations, systematization and capitalization of technical experiences and good practices in teams, identifying opportunities for information dissemination.
- Maintain constant articulation with other colleagues from the HIAS technical areas (VBG, IE, and legal protection) to guarantee the complementarity of actions and technical standards.
- Supports the updating of the mapping of actors for the activation of routes, ensuring the continuity of care across the spectrum of SMAPS needs and access to comprehensive services for survivors of gender-based violence at the local level and other vulnerability profiles in mental health.
- Participates in the spaces of local, national and interagency coordination teams for the response to the migration crisis from the SMAPS area, carrying out articulation actions in the response.
- Participates in technical meetings of the SMAPS area of ​​HIAS Colombia, HIAS international and inter-institutional coordination with other programmatic areas.
- Participates in meetings and exploratory needs assessment visits, and proposes intervention strategies from its area of ​​technical expertise, contributing to integration with the rest of the HIAS services and partner entities from a holistic approach.
- Periodically supports the production of technical information to position the thematic area both nationally on social networks and in regional or global publications, in close coordination with the Communications area.
REQUIRED PROFILE:
Studies:
- Professional in psychology (focus on gender studies desired)
- Postgraduate in victim care, clinical psychology or psychosocial intervention (Desired)
Professional experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in implementing programs focused on mental health care and psychosocial care in emergency or humanitarian contexts
- Experience in focused and community SMAPS interventions, including capacity building processes aimed at community networks and service providers.
- Experience in crisis intervention.
- Experience in managing cognitive behavioral intervention techniques
- Experience in managing third generation intervention techniques (Desired).
- Experience in emergency contexts (Desired).
- Experience in implementing experiential methodologies in communities in highly vulnerable situations.
- Experience leading technical processes in migration contexts, armed conflict and/or internal displacement.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of international SMAPS standards in emergencies (IASC) and for the prevention, protection and response to gender-based violence.
- Knowledge of cognitive behavioral and third generation intervention techniques.
