Summary of the position

The project officer responsibilities include delivering every project’s deliverable on time within budget and scope.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Key relationships:

Grant, Syria Office Manager, MEAL, IMU, Field Offices, Finance Manager, Procurement, Logistic.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Projects management

  • Closely coordinate with the Senior Officers and Syria Program Manager
  • Coordinate resources for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure that project(s) are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Contribute in timely and quality implementation of the project in line with its work plan.
  • Assist the projects department manager in developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Ensure resources availability and allocation.
  • Assist the projects department manager in development of detailed project plan to track progress.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
  • Contribute to sufficient follow up of the procurement plan, review and validate the purchase order within time and scope of the project.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Ensure and track projects spending on monthly basis from all donors
  • Ensure required reporting is done timely and accurately.
  • Attend a weekly meeting to review projects status with Program team.

Representation

  • Represent SAMS in all relevant fora in relation to the position duties, e.g., UNOCHA, NGOs, donors, as requested by the projects department manager.

THE CANDIDATE’S REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory Qualifications required:

  • A university degree in Pharmacy, Medical Science or administration field is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in Project management as project officer.
  • Health and Nutrition projects implementation is required, MHPSS and Protection projects implementation is an advantage.

Languages:

  • Advanced written and spoken in English.
