Role Description
The person in charge of this role is responsible for carrying out activities with children and young people between the ages of 0 and 18 victims of the war, respecting and implementing Soleterre methodology and tailored-made tools.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Deal with the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of speech disorders of pediatric patients being treated at the hospital or hosted at the Soleterre shelter in Novo Yarychiv affected by: trauma, stuttering, selective aphasia and mutism, dysphasia or dyslexia, speech and language or developmental disorders, relationship disorders and/or pervasive disorders such as autism and hyperactivity, communication disorders etc.;
- Develop rehabilitation therapies and personalized interventions according to need and monitor the progress of speech therapy;
- Work with pediatric patients and families advising on how to cope and live with communication disorders;
- Work closely with colleagues (pediatric neuropsychiatrist, occupational therapists, psychologists, etc.) to identify a multidisciplinary therapeutic path and to offer coordinated therapeutic support, following a holistic approach;
- Identify people in need and provide tailored-made support on the basis of a first complete assessment;
- Reporting of identified patients using the available tools, respecting the privacy of individuals;
- Collection of anamnestic data and administration of tests in order to define a diagnosis from which to establish a treatment path, in collaboration with the staff of the hospitals and other partner foundations;
- Contribute to develop existing and create new networks/relationships with the involved actors (hospitals, shelters, partners etc.);
- Sharing with the Program Manager relevant communications regarding new emerging needs, gaps, issues as well as positive stories and testimonies;
- Filling of additional files as per Program Manager request (i.e., monthly attendance sheet)
Minimum Requirements for the Position:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Work Experience: Minimum 3 years
Language skills: Ukrainian (mother tongue), English (good knowledge)
Compensation commensurate with experience and the proposed contractual form.
What is offered: FOP contract, flexible working timetable and shifts; reimbursement for the travel/movements expenses;
Starting date: 1st of September
