Federal Medical Centre, Nguru – The Board of Management of Federal Medical Centre, Nguru, hereby invites applications from interested and suitable qualified candidates to fill the vacant position below:

Job Title: Registrar

Location: Nguru, Yobe

Responsibilities

  • The Registrar shall be responsible to the Provost (Principal) for the day-to-day general administrative matters of the College.
  • He/she ensures compliance with relevant regulations and reports to the Provost on administrative matters.
  • Additionally, the Registrar shall serve as the Secretary to the Governing Council, the Academic Board, and other relevant committees; he/she is responsible for maintaining accurate records, managing student information, and handling official College correspondence; manages student admissions, registration processes, and oversees the administration of examinations and gracing; ensures compliance with relevant regulations; and is in charge of general administration, including tasks such as managing staff, facilities, and other administrative functions as directed by the Provost or Governing Council.

Requirements

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, or a related field from an accredited Institution.
  • They must have no less than fifteen (15) years of post-qualification relevant experience in the administrative cadre within a government establishment.
  • Candidates must be directorate-level officers in a government establishment.
  • Holding a master’s degree or other relevant higher degrees would be an added advantage.
  • Being a Fellow or Associate of the Institute of Administrators of Nigeria (IHSAN) or possessing any other relevant professional certificate is advantageous.
  • Candidates must be 1CT compliant. Experience working in a hospital is an added advantage. All relevant documents must be attached.

Salary and Conditions

  • Salary and conditions of service shall be in accordance with the Public Service Rule for this category of staff.

Tenure

  • The Registrar shall hold office effective from the date of appointment, including any period previously served as a Director in another organisation within the Public Service, provided that the officer does not reach the mandatory retirement age. of sixty (60) years or thirty-five (35) years of service, whichever occurs first, and subject to such terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment.
