Summary of the position

Managing the medical focal points and supervisors and supervise the specialized/signature services that they are provided in SAMS Syria facilities. In this role, the duties will include serving as an advisor, overseeing clinical services and maintaining high standards of health care.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Key relationships:

Medical Education Projects, Turkiye Projects, Grants, Syria Field Office, MEAL, IMU, Field Offices and Health Facilities, Supply Chain, and Operations.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Contribute in raising clinical expertise to signature projects and facilitate the communication between the SAMS committees and related FPs.
  • Performing administrative duties and risk medical management.
  • Ensuring the highest standards in health services within the facilities are maintained.
  • Conduct the monthly technical reports for all signature projects.
  • Conduct needs assessments, participatory assessments, and surveys as needed.
  • Supervising, and mentoring focal persons and collaborating with SAMS committees.
  • Help project officers in managing allocated budgets and identifying areas of improvement.
  • Keeping informed on advancements in the field and contributing to medical research programs.
  • Submitting the proposals regarding capacity building and training of facilities staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, protocols, and safety standards.
  • Reporting to projects manager, as well as liaising between administrative and medical staff.
  • Ensuring consistent and accurate medical record keeping practices.
  • Review the medical needs coming from the field and turn them into BOQs
  • Prepare and submit timely reports (daily, weekly, monthly) to the direct manager and program management, detailing all project activities, progress, and any issues that arise.
  • Any other – related tasks assigned to him/her by his line manager.

THE CANDIDATE’S REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory Qualifications required:

  • A university degree in medicine is required. A master’s degree in health administration (MHA) or any medical specialty \ subspecialty would be advantageous.
  • Proven experience of minimum 2 years in health projects administration and 5 years of clinical experience.
  • Proven experience in Clinical risk management
  • Basic knowledge of medical research methodology and ethics.
  • Advanced ability to ensure the highest standards in patient care and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge in the Syrian context

Languages:

Fluent written and spoken in Arabic (native) and advanced in English.

Competencies:

  • Scientific Background
  • High computer skills, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Gmail.
