OBJECTIVE:Â Provide nursing services at a primary health care level in an ambulatory medical care environment and in Mobile Medical Units, providing advice to beneficiaries and direct care for them, including health services for adults, adolescents and children, both for chronic and acute conditions.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Implementation
- Provide clinical nursing services to vulnerable indigenous and non-indigenous populations of the BolÃvar State in Venezuela, in accordance with internationally accepted standards.
- Ensure patient registration, reporting accuracy and case management.
- Ensure proper data management by completing cards, records, tally sheets and patient reports
- Perform urine tests and rapid diagnostics, such as blood glucose, additional rapid tests (example: malaria tests).
- Provide health education and hygiene promotion to patients based on their diagnoses and comorbidities, such as diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention (such as the need for vaccinations, smoking cessation, among others).
- Collect and analyze project and/or service data to inform and adjust project goals and/or plans, strategic choices, and quality of care in collaboration with IMC team members, local partners, and other relevant personnel.
- Assist in physical examination of reproductive health patients, as needed.
- Work with program staff, nurses, and support staff (eg, CHW) to provide both didactic and on-the-job training for skill enhancement.
- Collaborate with other departments as needed to ensure smooth implementation and integration of services.
- Comply with administrative directions regarding work hours, record keeping, patient communications, restocking of essential drugs, consumables, and other medical supplies.
- Provide support in the installation, maintenance and demobilization of the clinical spaces and the base camp, as necessary.
- Other nursing-related functions, including: triage, IPC, child protection focal point, dispensing, and/or data management, as needed in response.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with at least 2 years of experience in similar positions.
- Experience with the mobile data collection platform (desirable).
- Oral and written skills in English (desirable).
- Residence in BolÃvar State, preferably in Ciudad BolÃvar. The organization does not cover accommodation and/or relocation expenses in BolÃvar State.
