Sexual and reproductive health program coordinator (F/M) – Burkina Faso At Doctors of the World



Médecins du Monde, a militant medical association for international solidarity, has been committed for more than 40 years to caring for the most vulnerable populations here and there, to testifying to the obstacles observed in access to care, to obtaining lasting improvements health policies for all.

In France and internationally in nearly 30 countries, our actions aim to facilitate access to the health system by working on 5 priority themes structuring our fights and our advocacy: emergencies and crises, sexual and reproductive health, reduction risks, migrations, rights and health and health-environment.

Since 2010, MdM France has been present in Burkina Faso and has developed various projects including a sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) program in Ouagadougou, which is made up of the following 2 projects:

  • A prevention, screening and management of pre-cancerous lesions of the cervix (CCU) project allowing the early management of pre-cancerous lesions of the cervix in women aged 25 to 55 through screening and the implementation of advocacy activities with the authorities. MdM trains health personnel in the Baskuy health district in Ouagadougou, equips health structures with screening materials for the virus responsible for cervical cancer and supports women with advanced cancerous lesions in accessing appropriate treatment, or even palliative care.
  • A RESPECT project for sexual and reproductive health rights whichpromotes access to sexual and reproductive health care for adolescents and young people aged 10 to 24. Through the “RESPECT” project, started in October 2021, we support the Ministry of Health, health facilities and local organizations in the Baskuy health district in Ouagadougou. With the support of MdM, these actors implement medical, community and advocacy activities aimed at improving access to care, the dissemination of information on available health services and also the removal of institutional and legal barriers. preventing adolescents and young people from fully enjoying their health-related rights. As with all MdM DSSR programmes,

DESCRIPTION DU POSTE :

Sous la responsabilité de l’adjointe à la coordination générale en charge des programmes, en lien étroit avec l’équipe de coordination pays, les référent.e.s techniques terrain et les services d’appui aux programmes au siège, vous avez pour mission de piloter le projet DSSR mis en œuvre à Ouagadougou, aux niveaux stratégique et opérationnel.

Vos responsabilités principales sont :

Coordination et suivi opérationnel des activités

  • Assurer l’élaboration de la stratégie du programme DSSR
  • Garantir le suivi du cadre logique de référence
  • Assurer la planification stratégique et opérationnelle du programme
  • Coordonner les activités
  • Elaborer le suivi et le reporting des activités et participer au suivi des indicateurs du programme
  • Réaliser les termes de référence, assurer le suivi et la diffusion des évaluations en enquêtes du programme
  • Ensure constant monitoring of the evolution of issues related to the program

Partnerships

  • Actively participate in the development of partnerships
  • Lead the DSSR MdM-Spain/MdM-France consortium as part of the RESPECT project
  • Responsible for relations with local authorities
  • Coordinate the definition and respect of partnership agreements

Search for funding, relations and negotiations with donors

  • Contribute to fundraising
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements
  • Participate in meetings with donors
  • Coordinate the collection of necessary information in the writing of the project
  • Write interim and final donor reports

Logistics and financial management

  • Contribute to the development of the annual budget and project proposals
  • Ensure compliance with donor rules and constraints
  • Ensure monthly budget monitoring
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures through the validation of the project purchasing plan

Team management

  • Animate the team dynamics and the coherence of the activities
  • Define the individual and collective objectives of the team members and ensure their evaluations
  • Ensure the integration of newcomers
  • Contribute to the analysis of HR needs

Communication and representation

  • Plan the sending of activity reports in accordance with deadlines
  • Occasionally write articles for the internal press
  • Follow established communication procedures
  • Represent MdM with donors

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Status: Employee

Contract: Fixed-term contract

Duration: 12 months

Position to be filled as soon as possible
Gross monthly salary of 3119 euros
Equivalent 13th month paid in 2 instalments – from 6 months of actual work seniority
Expatriation bonus of 10% of gross salary per month

22.5 RTT / year
5 weeks of paid leave / year
Mutual insurance (60% participation of MdM and 40% of the employee)

Teleworking agreement subject to eligibility of your position: 110 days of telework per year (i.e. an average of 2.5 days of telework per week) with the obligation to work face-to-face at least 1 day per week

REQUIRED PROFILE :

Higher education in project management (Bac+5)
Experience in project management of at least 3 years
Prior experience in an NGO in a role of coordination and management of multi-donor projects essential, ideally in sexual and reproductive rights and health
Experience in the technical support from partners and the animation of networks
Sense of listening and team spirit
Dynamism and ability to take initiatives
Ability to respect security rules in force on the mission
Excellent writing, analysis and synthesis skills
Mastery of the Office pack
Languages: fluent French both written and spoken essential. Fluency in English a plus.
