YOUR JOB AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Emergencies, you participate in the development of the emergency preparedness strategy, in connection with and in contribution to the overall strategy of the ERRU, and are a source of proposals for matters relating to emergency preparedness. humanitarian emergencies.
More specifically, your missions will be to:
– Conduct Emergency Preparedness in collaboration with other ERRU activities/support through the definition of the preparation strategy, implementation, monitoring and, if necessary, reorientation of the action plan, define, manage and monitor the emergency preparedness budget and support, if requested, the development of proposals with institutional and private donors.
– Manage the emergency preparedness team, under the direction of the Deputy Director for Emergencies: recruitment, integration, annual preparedness action plan…
– Supervise emergency preparedness work and provide support to country offices via regular and proactive technical support
– Contribute to the strategic direction of the emergency unit and to good inter-team collaboration in order to ensure continuous improvement in the management of emergency preparedness and response at ACF.
– Lead the implementation and evaluation of operations in the field during emergencies requiring the deployment of senior profiles and ensure the representation of the organization in technical forums when necessary.

YOUR PROFILE
Holder of a higher diploma in international solidarity, you have at least 5 to 7 years of experience in humanitarian preparedness and response, preferably with experience in countries affected by conflicts in several regions.
You have already held key management roles in complex crisis areas: Field Coordinator, Country Director, Deputy Country Director… and you have a solid knowledge of operational support functions in emergency situations.
You have a strong background in emergency preparedness in the field, at regional or headquarters level with significant experience in developing training and capacity building with diverse NGO teams and partners local/civil society.
You demonstrate strong team management, fundraising, budget management, and written and oral communication skills. You are a diplomat, a good negotiator, and like to communicate both internally and externally.
You speak both English and French and if you are fluent in Arabic, Spanish and Portuguese, that’s a plus!
This position involves travel as needed with little notice and often to insecure locations and difficult living conditions, so you will need to be flexible, professional and self-sufficient.
You have an advanced degree in international humanitarian and development affairs, and at least 5 to 7 years of experience in humanitarian preparedness and response, preferably with experience in conflict-affected countries in multiple regions.
