Health Systems Strengthening Supervisor (Bucaramanga, Ciénaga, Santa Marta, Barranquilla) At Medical Teams International



Role Objective:

The Health Systems Strengthening Supervisor (FSS) will be in charge of supervising the health service packages that will be provided in the health centers of the identified IPS, established by Medical Teams International and under the leadership of the Coordinator of Strengthening of Health Services.

The supervisor will assist users to access the services they require, and will support the Health Services Strengthening Coordinator to ensure that all health services are provided and meet the standards established by Medical Teams International.

Additionally, the Health Services Strengthening Supervisor will support the referencing of users to services offered by other allied actors, through appropriate inter-institutional referencing mechanisms.

Essential Duties:

  • Collaborate closely with the Medical Teams International community team to identify the services required by users, and activate the corresponding routes
  • Support the organization of health services contracted by Medical Teams International, e.g. eg patient scheduling and documentation
  • Ensure that the flow of patients between clinics, pharmacies and other health reference institutions is efficient and complies with humanitarian and Medical Teams International standards.
  • Carry out quality control checks, guaranteeing the adequate provision of the services offered (referrals from the community, pharmacies, laboratories and referrals for higher levels of care).
  • Guide users to access the services in a timely manner, provide navigation of the service steps
  • Ensure proper registration of all patients, including the use of digital platforms
  • Maintain compliance with all medical care protocols established by the Ministry of Health and international standards.
  • Report and complete all the necessary activity reports on a monthly basis for our stakeholders
  • Ensure strict monitoring and evaluation of all health service packages provided.
  • Identify training needs in the clinics where services are offered, inform the training needs to the Health Services Strengthening Coordinator, and support the design and implementation of training plans.
  • Promote strong links between community health workers and other members of the health care team.
  • Assist in the identification of local actors that offer services for the migrant population
  • Develop mechanisms, routes, and efficient referencing tools for services offered by allies Health Services Strengthening Coordinator
  • Develop strategies and activities to ensure that the migrant population obtains the most up-to-date information on available services and routes
  • Supervise and follow up on the referencing of users to services of other actors
  • Support the protection of program participants and employees by promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the provisions of the code of conduct for the Protection of Medical Teams from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, the protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults and the harassment-free workplace policies. Holders will remain alert and responsive to any child and adult protection risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills that will enable them to promote sound protection practices, understand the child and adult protection policy and procedures, and behave in a manner consistent with the Protection.

Other Duties:

  • Plan program events as needed
  • Ensure the protection of program participants and employees by promoting an awareness-raising environment and compliance with the provisions of the code of conduct of Medical Teams International’s protection policies, against sexual exploitation and abuse, protection of children and vulnerable adults and workplace policies free of harassment.
  • Participate in committees, roundtables, and working groups as requested
  • Occasionally represent Medical Teams International in stakeholder meetings between various stakeholders.
  • Additional tasks as requested

Education and Certifications

Required

  • Nursing professional with experience in maternal and child health, sexual reproductive health, pediatric care, general medicine, and community health.
  • Certified by the National Board of Nursing / Accredited Nursing Institution / Rethus
  • You must be a Colombian citizen or resident with a valid work VISA

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, working in healthcare delivery.
  • Minimum 2 years working in the Colombian national health system, public or private sector
  • Preferably have experience working with an international NGO
  • Preferably have experience working with migrants or refugees

Knowledge

  • Know the Colombian Health System
  • Manage health programs, especially with regard to the provision of maternal and child health services, sexual and reproductive health AIEPI (Comprehensive Care in Early Childhood).
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the regulations, policies, laws and protocols of the National Health System / Ministry of Health
  • Management of Technological tools

Skills

  • Record and manage data on digital platforms (Excel, KoBo, ODK, etc.)
  • Writing reports with quality standards
  • Excellent interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills.
  • Project management.
