Are you experienced in MAM and SAM treatment, infant and young child feeding (IYCF), and cooking demonstrations? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Nkafamiya Rescue Mission is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid and support to vulnerable communities affected by malnutrition. We are currently looking for a skilled and compassionate Nutrition Officer to join our team and help us combat malnutrition in the areas we serve. Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the implementation of MAM and SAM treatment programs, ensuring adherence to international standards and best practices.
- Conduct assessments, screening, and provide treatment protocols for malnourished children in coordination with healthcare providers.
- Develop and deliver training sessions on infant and young child feeding, emphasizing proper nutrition practices to caregivers and community members.
- Organize and conduct cooking demonstrations to promote healthy and nutritious meals within the community.
- Collaborate with local health authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive approach to nutrition intervention.
- Collect and analyze data on program effectiveness, monitor progress, and prepare detailed reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or related field.
- Proven experience in managing MAM and SAM treatment programs within humanitarian contexts.
- Strong understanding of infant and young child feeding practices, including breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and micronutrient supplementation.
- Previous experience in conducting cooking demonstrations and promoting healthy eating habits.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with diverse communities and stakeholders.
- Proficient in data collection, analysis, and reporting tools.
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances, and travel to project sites when required.
