You know us without knowing us: Médecins du Monde is a militant medical association of international solidarity present in nearly 30 countries and 15 regions in France. For more than 40 years, we have been committed to caring for the most vulnerable populations and to reporting on the obstacles encountered in accessing care. You’re not a doctor? Don’t panic, 75% of employees occupy non-medical positions.

We have almost 500 employees under French law but also 1,400 employees on the ground internationally and more than 1,500 volunteers in France. Citizen engagement and volunteering are at the heart of our associative model. At Médecins du Monde, volunteers and employees have a common commitment: solidarity. We invite you to embody this value by working alongside us!

In support of local collectives since 2017, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur transalpine border migration program aims to provide access to rights and care for exiled people present on the Franco-Italian border (Briançon-Montgenèvre/Oulx ) in an overall context making border crossings both more numerous and more dangerous.

As part of a logic of reducing health, physical and psychological risks incurred by people in exile, the program is divided into three main operational components:

  • A mobile shelter unit transported and deployed in the mountains with the Tous Migrants association
  • Access to first aid for people sheltered within the premises of the partner Refuges Solidaires and in connection with the permanent access to health care at the Briançon hospital
  • Documentation of rights violations observed at the border with the Anafé association and the Coordination of actions at internal borders.

Finally, the program also develops advocacy and communication activities and strengthening the skills of the various partners while participating in the animation of local inter-associative life.
