Can you provide excellent leadership and management for our humanitarian health programming in various locations?
UK-Med is a frontline medical aid charity. Born of the British National Health Service, we’ve been working for over 30 years towards a world where everyone has the healthcare they need when crises or disasters hit.
Our Emergency Medical team responses are staffed from our Register of surge responders. Register members undergo extensive training and vetting in advance, so they can be quickly deployed to where they are most needed. Register members who join a response team are offered a fixed-term contract for the response and paid in line with our globally benchmarked pay scales.
We are seeking several new talented people to join our teams in various locations, to be available to deploy in Team Lead roles, providing day-to-day management, coordination, and leadership to the field team across a particular geographic area, ensuring all team members are able to fulfil their objectives in a complex, dynamic and uncertain context.
Our ideal candidates will be experienced humanitarian Team Leads who have demonstrable understanding of humanitarian relief work, health programming and capacity building, including relevant experience in a field-based humanitarian context.
You will have proven experience of managing and coordinating emergency health programmes in complex and insecure environments, including experience of security management in insecure environments.
You will be able to demonstrate how you have led people and teams to successful delivery in demanding environments and applied your management skills to build impactful programmes.
You will have a broad understanding of logistics, grants, finance and HR management in humanitarian response and experience of managing these functions.
You will be determined, high performing, compassionate and collaborative, as well as being committed to learning and supporting others to learn. Language skills will be an advantage.
We offer excellent learning opportunities and occasional opportunities to work in international humanitarian responses, should you decide to join our Register at a later date.
