OBJECTIVE: Provide specialized care medical services in an outpatient setting and in Mobile Medical Units; being responsible for advising beneficiaries to give direct care to them, including pediatric health services and advice to their representatives, for childhood and childhood conditions.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the implementation of activities and identify indicators for their monitoring, results and achievements in the implementation of the health program.
- Provide support to the medical team, Programs and MEAL, for the organization and execution of evaluations and investigations on the impact of health activities, identifying and reporting on the limitations, difficulties or strengths of the strategy of health activities inside and outside of the medical structures, in order to strengthen the link between the communities and the project.
- Provide support in the selection and development of quality pedagogical communication strategies for the community.
- Plan information campaigns, including goals, objectives, methods and objectives to increase awareness in the target population.
- Inform community members and identified risk groups about health-related issues, according to protocols.
- Organize health advocacy sessions for IMC staff from Bolivar State.
- Identify the key actors (national authorities, national NGOs, traditional healers, formal or informal authorities) to support the dissemination of health information for the target population and be the point of reference for the relationship and interconnection between them.
- Organize, train and supervise the Medical team regarding the planning and organization of work. It implies supporting, evaluating and training the staff, compiling reports and reporting the activities of each health worker, regularly visiting the communities under their responsibility.
- Compile and report to the Medical team any information related to the health situation of the population and patients.
Program Implementation
- Provide high-quality medical consultation that includes pertinent patient history, proper physical examination, investigations, treatment, and referrals.
- Track patient data daily using record sheets or other provided tools.
- Monitor diagnostic trends and report to supervisor when necessary.
- Comply with the protocols for the rational use of medicines.
- Submit reports on time.
- Participate in educational sessions for staff and patients as directed by supervisor.
- Attend training sessions requested by the supervisor.
- Provide training to other staff members at the request of the supervisor.
- Participate in the daily running of the clinic.
- Present all services to patients for free.
- Collaborate with other departments as needed to ensure smooth implementation and integration of services.
- Follow administrative guidelines regarding work schedules, record keeping, patient communications, replenishment of medications, consumables, and other necessary items.
- Respect the IMC Code of Conduct and internationally accepted humanitarian principles.
Minimum requirements:
- General Physician with a postgraduate degree in Pediatrics (essential).
- Experience of 1 to 3 years in private clinics or in general hospitals.
- Knowledge of safety procedures in dealing with patients in PHC.
- Knowledge in management of triage formats.
- Experience with the mobile data collection platform (desirable).
- Residence in Bolívar State, preferably in Ciudad Bolívar. The organization does not cover accommodation and/or relocation expenses in Bolívar State.
