JOB SUMMARY

The role of the Field Nutrition officer will be as a Team Leader involves effective team management, logistical coordination, community engagement, data collection, and ensuring the smooth execution of nutrition programs. his/her contributions will be pivotal in maintaining program quality and promoting positive health outcomes for the targeted communities.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The main responsibilities of the position:

• lead the Field Nutrition Team in distributing tasks in the field and ensuring adherence to the daily work plan.

• Work with the Nutrition Team to solve difficulties that develop in the field.

• After consulting with the Program Manager, lead the Nutrition Team in the field on an alternating schedule between the members of the supervised team to ensure leadership support and quality control.

• Coordinate the logistical needs of activities in accordance with the implementation plan, such as team cars, nutrition materials distribution, delivering activity-related items to communities, coordinating the set-up and transportation of nutrition activity tents, and any other program needs.

• Participate in community mobilization and the training of community leaders and prominent people, as well as the coordination and presentation of group sessions and community activities. Participate actively in dietary variety training, MUAC measurement in households, health education activities, community health visits, and referral systems. This is not an entire list, and more training may be required. Periodically

• Update the nutrition and health services maps, as well as the ties to other services and referral systems, and share these with Program Management.

• coordinate referrals from the Nutrition Team to treatment centers, health centers, or the Safeguarding Team.

• Managing the stock inventory and the supplementary items and preparing distribution plans for the health facilities and RRTs.

• Ensure that all essential information is collected in a timely way for reporting purposes, and that nutrition workers collect required and relevant data from fieldwork.

• verify the legitimacy of the documents supplied in the project’s beneficiary lists.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

The nutrition Officer should has the following skills, education, and experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (nutrition, health, pharmacy, or a related field)
  • Working experience in Syria is preferred, as is knowledge of Aleppo and Idleb.
  • At least three years of experience working in community nutrition, with a strong emphasis on social behavior change initiatives involving PLW and children under the age of five.
  • Demonstrated monitoring and evaluation skills, as well as expertise conducting nutrition assessments.
  • Confident presentation and facilitation abilities, as well as a track record of training delivery.
